How does it work?
At Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000, non-skiers can also take advantage of our magnificent panoramas and invigorating mountain air, thanks to 6 trails of varying difficulty and distance dedicated to pedestrians.
With a ski pass, you can discover the ski area at your own pace, on foot or on snowshoes. If you’re a high-altitude enthusiast, hop on board our detachable lifts for a different viewpoint!

Safety instructions and rules of conduct
The mountains are a wonderful land of adventure and freedom. However, there are a number of risks inherent in hiking and snowshoeing.
To avoid them, it is sometimes simply necessary to show humility and common sense in the face of nature.
However, here are a few basic tips (not an exhaustive list) for enjoying these pleasures in complete safety:
- The signposted routes you take are not supervised, so you are on your own responsibility.
- Some trails that are accessible in summer are strictly forbidden in winter. When you set out on a walk, always take along a winter trail map, or an IGN map for more experienced hikers.
- If you're a beginner or have little experience, it's better to take a walk with a professional guide (see the program of activities available from the Tourist Office) than to go it alone.
- Choose your route according to your level, fitness and weather conditions.
- When in doubt, it's sometimes better to give up and turn back rather than face a perilous situation.
- Never hike alone, and make sure those around you are aware of the route you will be taking.
- Don't leave too late in the afternoon to make sure you're back before dark.
- Check the condition of your equipment.
- Bring good walking shoes and warm clothing.
- For your own safety and that of others, stay on the marked trails.
- Remember to eat well, stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun and cold.
- Snowpack stability can vary greatly. Some itineraries may be subject to closure. Check with the ski slopes service and follow the safety instructions.
- During your walks, you may come across alpine and Nordic ski areas. Be careful when crossing the slopes, don't stop and look carefully before crossing. For safety reasons, access to Nordic and Alpine slopes is strictly forbidden to pedestrians, snowshoers and dogs (by municipal by-law).
